Delete branch "fix/beta-tags"
Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?
NuvioMobile has tagged its stable releases as
X.Y.Z-betasince 0.5.1 (2026-09-23). They aren't marked as prereleases, and the IPA is namednuvio-X.Y.Z-full-release.ipa. The tag check only allowed digits and dots, so every updater run since then failed withunsupported release tag: 0.5.8-betaand the source stayed at 0.4.21.This adds
_version_from_tag, which strips a single-betasuffix (and a leadingv) before the existing tag-vs-CFBundleShortVersionStringcheck. Other suffixes (-rc1,-alpha, etc.) are still rejected, and releases GitHub marks as prereleases are still skipped.Checked against the real 0.5.8-beta IPA: it embeds
0.5.8, build 140, iOS 16.1+,com.nuvio.media. A dry run ofcheck_and_update()with no commit produced 0.5.8 (build 140), dated 2026-10-08, with the README row and news entry updated.Tests: 12 pass, including the new
test_version_from_tag_accepts_upstream_beta_suffix.After merge, the next VM run (every 4 hours) will commit 0.5.8 to
mainand publish it.
